This is an absolute staple in the community. Good food and hearty portions. My favorite is the festival bread. I haven't found any place that makes it better.

Cashier was super friendly and attentive. 10/10 Beef patty was AMAZING! 8/10 The oxtail plate very flavorful all the food was delish EXCEPT lots of bones. I kept digging and digging thinking it was meat, but mostly bones on my plate only found one oxtail with decent amount of meat. ($22) Maybe I will try the jerk chicken instead next time.

Four stars only because I wish the meat pies had more meat in them. The meat was more like a soupy sauce base with an underlying heat to it that limited me from enjoying the flavor. The crust was flaky yet firm and still moist enough yet dry enough. It was served warm and seemed fresh. That's all I got this time. Will be back. Saw lots of dishes on the tables that looked nummy. Plenty of seating in a Sat night around dinner time. Tables of 2-4. Seating is inside. Next time I may order ahead as the kitchen seems small and limited labor so may want to plan ahead. Parking not too bad on the street. Service was good. Ambience is chill casual diner like.

Still re-tasting this deliciousness. Really flavorful, so good. And highly recommended. BUT... arrive with a lot of time to wait. They are popular and also perhaps not the snappiest cooks? Dunno why the holdup but it was well worth it. Our party ordered oxtail, Ackee&Saltfish, Jerk Chicken plain & BBQ. *So tasty*, and _huge_ portions, each enough for two meals or more I'd say. Though obviously this depends on who's doing the eating. Very pleasant staff, but food comes out in plasticware which isn't so nice. That's the only downside. Brown is the default rice which is appreciated. I can't wait to go back!

Hands down my favorite Caribbean restaurant in Los Angeles. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a while and I was so happy to see they included the indoor seating again after having to take it out due to the COVID pandemic. While the restaurant is not huge, it is spacey. We quickly ordered I and sat down at the table. The hostess was great and made sure we had water to the table and that our food came out promptly. For dishes, I ordered the curry chicken while my friend ordered the jerk shrimp. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were huge. My dish came with white rice, cabbage and festival. I had food to take home and had it for dinner since it was so big! Due to it being near a residential area and near other shops, you will have no issue finding parking. I highly recommend!

THE BEST JAMAICAN FOOD IN LA - as a former New Yorker who acquired the great taste of authentic Jamaican food - this will always be #1 here. The portion me are large. I can sometimes get 2 meal. Out of the platter. The food is always served HOT. They just never miss. The service is typical Jamaican restaurant service IYKYK. The vibe is in and out.

I have never been to Jamaica but of all Jamaican restaurants or even a few home cooked Jamaican meals I have had, this is the best. Def in my top 3 fav restaurants. The place itself is no frills but what you come here for is the food. The jerk chicken is my favorite. Mmm the sauce mixed w the rice and peas is to die for. A plate is def enough for two people unless you have a large appetite. Patties are good as well. Don't forget to ask for their habanero sauce if you like extra spice. The owner and her daughters are super sweet. I've been coming here since 2013? I think and it's still amazing. Check it out!

Met up with my friend at Leimert Park for a Utopia event, so we decided to dine before this event. Here was our experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking and neighborhood parking. It all depends if there are events Seating: Inside seating with room for about 30 people. Great in groups of 4. Vibes: You're in Leimert Park; thus, there is a lot of black culture to experience from the businesses, art, and, if you're lucky, the music. It's not your Hollywood-type place but more over a grit and grind area. The place itself is pretty simple. Pictures of food, award, news articles about the place. Good for family and friends. FOOD: Jerk Chicken Combo (Recommend) Delicious! There was a good amount of spice to give it a good savory kick. The cabbage salad provided a nice change in flavor and textures. Plantains were fresh and sweet. The bread was like a subtly sweet donut but great for dipping in the jerk sauce. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! It was super busy, but they held it down quite calmly TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Delicious food, good selections, reasonable price, and great experience overall. I had a good order, but when I tried my friend's ackee order, I was impressed; it tasted like scrambled eggs. I look forward to coming back here. Till next time, Ackee Bamboo! TIPS: * If I didn't say it enough, TRY that ackee * Look into their daily specials.
